Lessons

One of the things I have long struggled with is admitting weakness. I know. It isn't really weakness to ask for help or to admit you're sick.

But being taught as I grew up to be self-sufficient, to really put others first, you didn't stay home from school or work unless you couldn't stand up. You struggled along, doing things yourself.

Well, I am hereby admitting that I have a bad head cold. (Sneezing and coughing is my life right now.) I'm working from home tomorrow (one of my usual days currently). However, if I still feel this way Tuesday, I'll be requesting to work from home again. (Mentally, I'm okay. Physically, not so much.)

Why don't I just take a sick day?

Baby steps.
